RICHARDSON, Texas – (Nov. 2, 2021) – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a leading construction management firm and general contractor in the U.S., raised funds in support of North Texas veterans and at-risk youth at the company’s 6th Annual Charity Golf Classic.
Held at Golf Clubs at the Tribute in The Colony, AP Gulf States’ team members and over 150 North Texas golfers in the A/E/C industry came together to raise more than $130,000 – comprised of various sponsorships and individual donations – with portions going back to PGA Hope, Dallas CASA and The Ashford Rise School of Dallas. Since 2016, the event has raised over $700,000 for North Texas charitable organizations.
“At AP, giving back to the communities where we live and build is evident in every project we work on and every partnership we forge,” said Will Pender, president of AP Gulf States. “While our annual Charity Golf Classic is the most prominent representation of this, our teams throughout Texas and across the country consistently strive to make a measurable and positive impact in the lives of our neighbors, community members and friends.”
In early September, AP announced its inaugural, company-wide day of giving program as part of its year-long 75th anniversary celebration. The program encourages AP team members across the nation to leverage paid time off to give back to their local communities throughout the month of September.
In Dallas, AP team members volunteered their time with Aim for Advocacy – a clay shoot supporting the Dallas Children’s Advocay Center – helping with event set up, registration, clay pulling, meal service and refreshments and more. In Midland, team members volunteered with the High Plains Food Bank of Amarillo – which was hit hard by the pandemic and in need of community support – packing 8,600 pounds of food to alleviate hunger in 29 counties throughout the Texas panhandle.
Outside of Texas, AP team members in the Midwest, Mountain States and Southwest selected local charities and causes that had special meaning for their employees, including Feed My Starving Children and AZCEND Food Bank in Arizona, the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Colorado, and Hearts and Hammers and Second Harvest Heartland in Minnesota.

About Dallas CASA
Dallas CASA advocates in the community and the courtroom for children in the protective care of the state so they can grow up in safe, permanent homes where they can thrive. CASA was founded in 1977, when a Seattle superior court judge, amidst an overwhelmed child welfare system, grew concerned about making decisions on behalf of abused and neglected children in his court without enough information. He felt that more individualized attention and time for gathering important facts would produce better outcomes for the children. He decided to appoint community volunteers to work on behalf of the children in his court. Dallas CASA was one of three pilot programs established in 1979. The agency, then called FOCAS (Foster Child Advocate Services), was founded by the National Council of Jewish Women with funding from the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. Our first class of volunteers graduated in 1980.
