AP Announces Completion and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Chisholm Public Safety Building

The new facility consolidates all public safety services in a single location.

MINNEAPOLIS – July 2, 2024 – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a national, family-owned construction management and contracting company, today announced the successful completion of the new City of Chisholm Public Safety Building in Minnesota. The City of Chisholm hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this momentous occasion at 2 PM on July 2, 2024, at the new facility located at 201 SE 4th Avenue, Chisholm, Minn.

The new one-story facility is 22,963 square feet and sits on city-owned land. The building functions as a hub for all public safety services, co-locating the Police, Fire, and Ambulance departments under one roof. To enhance functionality, it features dedicated areas for apparatus storage, firefighter decontamination, secure prisoner transfer (sallyport bays), private interview rooms, secure evidence storage, and ample parking for both staff and emergency vehicles.

“We’re proud to be part of this project that will have a lasting impact on the City of Chisholm,” said Patrick Sims, project executive, Adolfson & Peterson Construction. “This new state-of-the-art public safety building is a testament to the city’s commitment to providing its residents with the best possible emergency services to serve and protect the community effectively.”

The original building, built in 1908, struggled to meet the needs of the growing community and modern public safety services. Broad community support and a growing mining industry drove demand for reliable public safety.
